Introduction

LiveFree OKC is seeking qualified candidates for 6 new positions of Community Violence Intervention (CVI) Specialist or “PeaceMaker”. This position will engage community members at the highest risk for involvement in gun violence to support their cessation of violence. PeaceMakers manage a portfolio of clients in the CVI program, providing unique support, information, and modeling of positive behaviors, with a particular emphasis on serving people impacted by violence, their families, and their friends.
The ideal candidate(s) will be passionate about community engagement and enrichment of people, families, and communities—and knowledgeable about the widespread impact and nature of trauma. PeaceMakers have strong community relationships, strong commitmentments to peace, are experienced with overcoming adversity, and are strong collaborators.

Salary: $51,750 plus health benefits
Location: Oklahoma City
Employment Status: Full-Time
Position Summary
The PeaceMaker of LiveFree OKC’s Community Violence Intervention Program is responsible for directly engaging with individuals at the highest risk for involvement in gun violence in an effort to de-escalate conflict and prevent future gun violence. PeaceMakers serve communities affected by violence in an assigned area and as otherwise directed by the Lead PeaceMaker. This role involves providing immediate crisis intervention, ongoing support, and facilitating access to services that promote safety and stability. The PeaceMaker works closely with the fellow PeaceMakers, a Lead PeaceMaker, and community partners to reduce violence and support impacted individuals and families.
Schedule:
Tuesday – Thursday: 2:00-10:00 PM
Friday – Saturday: 3:00-11:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement and Support
Client Outreach: Conduct outreach to engage high-risk individuals and communities.
Ongoing Support: Provide ongoing support and mentorship to clients to promote positive behavior and reduce violence.
Resource Connection: Assist clients in accessing services such as housing, healthcare, employment, and education.
Intervention and Support
Immediate Response: Provide immediate crisis intervention services to individuals and families affected by violence.
Conflict Mediation: Mediate conflicts and de-escalate potentially violent situations.
Safety Planning: Develop and implement safety plans for individuals at risk of violence.
Collaboration and Coordination
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other program staff to support clients.
Referral Coordination: Coordinate referrals to external agencies and follow up to ensure clients receive necessary support.
Data Collection and Reporting
Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of client interactions, interventions, and outcomes.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports on intervention activities and client progress for review by the Lead PeaceMaker.
Evaluation: Participate in program evaluations and contribute to the development of best practices.
Community Engagement and Education
Public Education: Participate in community outreach and education efforts to raise awareness about violence prevention and intervention.
Workshops and Trainings: Facilitate workshops and training sessions for community members and stakeholders.
Advocacy: Advocate for the needs and rights of clients within the community and with external partners.
Professional Development
Training: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Best Practices: Stay updated on best practices and trends in violence intervention and prevention.
Feedback Integration: Implement feedback and lessons learned from program evaluations and client interactions to improve services.
